A case of the Mondays

After an impressive overtime victory against the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday night, where the Canucks looked hungry, composed, and defensively sound (not to mention downright impressive), the Canucks proceeded with two humiliating performances, racking up 5-2 and 4-2 losses against Buffalo and Chicago, respectively.

In both losses the Canucks suffered from poor (Sanford) to average (Luongo) goaltending, embarrassing defensive lapses, an anemic offence, and a power play that I can most positively describe as egregiously pathetic.

Taylor Pyatt has also done his best to prove to Canucks fans that Darcy Regier did, indeed, know what he was doing when he shipped him off to Vancouver for a fourth round draft pick. When Pyatt isn’t looking utterly listless on the ice, he can typically be found in the penalty box for some pointless indiscretion.

Apparently the injuries have started to pile up again, too. Hey, welcome back, Kyle Wellwood (providing you pass through waivers along the way).

Sounds like a case of the Mondays for Canucks fans.
